19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent the Russian player secured his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after March of that year.
The win also means he has achieved 21 victories at 21 various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is really nice," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to compete at the top level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five games to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to push for a decider.
The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
